Singer Keegan Calmes Interview on Coffee Shop Acoustics

Born in Wisconsin, Keegan Calmes got his musical career kick started by performing lead vocals and guitar in the band “Vinyl Theatre.” Vinyl Theatre was picked up by a New York based record label company called Fueled by Ramen, where they recorded 3 albums and went on 16 national tours.

Recently Keegan took an indefinite hiatus from the group and moved to Austin, TX to perform as a solo artist. Keegan has successfully released several singles since becoming a solo artist including “Broken Heart”, “Time”, and “Summer Nights”.

This past October, I had the opportunity to speak to Keegan in an interview on Coffee Shop Acoustics Radio. Throughout the course of his solo career, he has successfully been working on redefining his sound which is evident in his recent releases.

We discussed his new song, “Birthday”, which talks about the hardships of celebrating your birthday alone in quarantine during the Coronavirus pandemic. Keegan was very passionate about this release because it tackles the hardships of quarantine, which is something that everyone has had to experience.

You can find Keegan’s music on Apple Music and Spotify. Keegan hopes to release more singles in the coming weeks leading up to the New Year.
