Raveena talks “Tweety” and the music industry

An artist who has undoubtedly showcased her individuality within her music, Raveena has released a critically acclaimed full-length debut album (2019’s “Lucid”) and continues to delight audiences with her latest releases.

Fans of singers such as Destiny’s Child and Aaliyah need to tune into this artist’s discography!

Raised in a traditional Sikh household in both Queens, NY and Stamford, CT, Raveena was exposed to music at a young age and eventually began to work with record producer Everett Orr. She directed several of her own music videos, incorporating her Indian heritage into them. Her latest single “Tweety” was released on February 5 and details the early stages of falling in love.

We talked about numerous topics, including what her best performance was so far and how the pandemic is affecting artists’ work.

One of the segments that stood out to me was the discussion on the effects of the pandemic on the music industry. Since artists haven’t been pressured as much to get content out onto streaming services, they have had time to really rest and put more time and creativity into the creation of their work.

Raveena said that there could be a Renaissance, and I could totally see that happening. I never thought about the repercussions of the pandemic in that sense, and it makes me even more excited for upcoming music from artists!

We also talked about which artist, either dead or alive, she would want to collaborate with and Raveena chose the iconic 1980’s pop and R&B singer Prince, expressing that it would be an honor to be in his presence and gain advice from him.

Keep on the lookout for more music from Raveena! In the meantime, Raveena’s discography can be found on music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
