Episode 108: CTA Stories

It is the best place to people-watch. It is the home of countless mystery smells. It is the magic system that gets us from point A to point B without a dull moment in between, it is…public transportation.

In this episode of The Radio DePaul Podcast, Sonal and Priya take a look at the Chicago Transit Authority, or the CTA. For those of us living in Chicago, the CTA is probably something we are pretty familiar with. We use the CTA all the time, often without giving much thought to how it came to be.

We talked to Professor Joseph Schwieterman, an expert on public transportation, who explains how and why the CTA came to be, what makes it so special, and just how different Chicago would be without it.

Special thanks to Professor Schwieterman and the DePaul students, both past and present, who shared their craziest CTA stories with us.
