A$AP Rocky’s opening night of the Don’t Be Dumb tour

CHICAGO– On Wednesday May 27, A$AP Rocky opened night one of his Don’t Be Dumb tour, performing for a sold-out crowd at the United Center.

With the start time set for 7:30 p.m., the area filled up quickly in anticipation. As the time went by, whispers started to circulate of, “is there an opener?” “Did something happen?” Around 9:15 p.m. heads started to turn towards the upper left of the arena where a whole section was filled with swat guards. The lights went down, and Rocky came out.

Seeing Rocky up in the 300s section made the entire area shake with excitement. He came out hot starting off the night with “Trunks” from his 2025 album “Highest 2 Lowest.” While performing in the 300’s section, a helicopter started descending over the general admissions (GA). A flashlight and camera pointed down and showed the GA spread out ready to start a mosh pit over a circle on the floor saying, “Don’t Be Dumb.”

After two songs, Rocky left the 300’s section and came back out riding on another helicopter that flew above the stage, giving fans a clear view from nearly every seat in the arena.

Covered head to toe, Rocky held onto a megaphone-shaped microphone in one hand and the helicopter in another.

Rocky’s presence was radiating across the entire area, concert goers danced, moshed, and yelled out Rocky’s lyrics. After performing songs off his most recent album “Don’t Be Dumb” like “ORDER OF PROTECTION” and “HELICOPTER” Rocky finally made his way to the stage.

Over the course of two and a half hours Rocky slowly shed his layers and played songs from his whole discography. He played“PLAYA” and “PUNK ROCKY” off of “Don’t Be Dumb.” And played much older songs like, “PICK IT UP,” “LVL,” and “Fashion Killa.”

Halfway through, Rocky even brought out artists Tommy Revenge and Ty Dolla $ign to sing an unreleased song titled, “December 31.” And played another unreleased song, “Nah For Real” with artist Thoto.

A$AP Rocky’s first night of the “Don’t Be Dumb” tour could not have been a better way to kick off his world tour. Performing for over two hours, Rocky played songs spanning his entire discography while delivering an engaging set and showcasing insane stage presence, giving both longtime fans and newer ones an unforgettable experience.

As the concert began coming to an end, Rocky ascended above the stage and performed two more songs. Even though it was already past 11 p.m., the crowd continued cheering for more. Rocky told the audience that he didn’t care if the show had gone past curfew and that he would gladly take the fine if it meant spending more time with his fans.

Before stepping off stage, he made sure to leave the fans with a piece of advice, “Remember, don’t be dumb motherf—–s.”
