On Friday, January 8th, 2021, we had representatives from Delta Sigma Pi, The Fullertones, and the DePaul Business Music Organization speak about their organizations.
Delta Sigma Pi is a co-ed professional business fraternity that aims to help students grow in the business world. Candidates must be pursuing a business major, have at least a 2.7 GPA, and have at least two quarters remaining in their studies, not including the quarter at the time of joining. Through professional practices such as office visits, interview training, and resume building, students learn about the business world first hand on top of being involved in social and community service activities. Every year they host large and small scale networking events where members can speak with business professionals to build connections and learn more about the industry. To learn more about Delta Sigma Pi at DePaul University and how you can join, you can visit their website or check out their Instagram at @dspdepaul.
The Fullertones are an all-inclusive student-led acapella group dedicated to making and performing their own acapella music. Interested students can audition to join The Fullertones at their annual audition session. On occasion, The Fullertones hold additional auditions during the course of the year, so keep your eyes out for that if you happen to miss the initial window. The Fullertones is open for anyone to join; you can be part of any school, studying any major, and so on. In the past they have hosted a concert a quarter and made music videos for their songs. The Fullertones meet bi-weekly on Sundays and Tuesdays where their activities range from performing songs to spending time with one another and fostering a stronger community amongst each other. You can find The Fullertones on most social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube. You can also reach them at thefullertones@gmail.com.
The DePaul Music Business organization is dedicated to helping students foster relationships and build a network in the music industry. They are currently hosting an artist’s series on Instagram live interviewing various artists, where they have featured the DePaul rap duo The Stranded Civilians and another DePaul local artist, Skeet Pete. Last year they held small performances at local coffee shops, helping DePaul musicians to get exposure, and they also hosted a music industry panel at the Holtschneider Performance Center. During their weekly Thursday meetings, members work in conjunction with the board to brainstorm ideas for events and foster connections with one another. The DePaul Music Business Organization is currently looking for more members, so if this is something that interests you, be sure to check them out on Instagram, Facebook, and you can shoot them an email at DMBO.depaul@gmail.com.
About: The DePaul Half Hour is a show that interviews organizations in and around DePaul and we have them discuss what they can do for DePaul students as well as what they can do for the surrounding community. Every week, up to three organizations come onto the show and share their upcoming events, how one can get involved, how to get in touch, and much more. Tune in every Friday from 12:30pm to 1:00pm to be the first to listen to these shows on radiodepaul.com. If you and your organization are interested in coming on, contact radiodepaulonair@gmail.com for more information.
