On May 14, 2021, representatives from Blue Demon Theatre and Zeta Phi Eta spoke about their organizations on the DePaul Half Hour.
Blue Demon Theatre is a student-run organization that supports and inspires students to involve themselves in all aspects of theatre. They invite students from all walks of life and any experience level in theatre and performing arts to join and participate in their productions. Some of their works for this seasons’ Connecting… theme include trivia nights, cabaret performances, guest speakers, ten-minute play performances, two-act play performances, and full on musical productions. Blue Demon Theatre will be premiering their final show of the year, [title of show] on June 10-12th. The show is free, but make sure to keep in touch with their socials if you want to be the first to book a ticket. You can learn more about the club at their May 17th general body meeting where afterward they will be having a Little Mermaid makeup contest for a chance to win a Blue Demon Theatre t-shirt. You can find them on Instagram, Facebook, DeHub, their website and you can view their past performances on their Youtube.
Zeta Phi Eta is a fraternity that focuses on professional development in the communications field and strives to connect the Communications colleges together at DePaul. They host three professional events a quarter of those being career prep workshops, guest speaker features, and skill focused workshops. They also host internal professional events specific to the organization, such as their most recent Brands & Goals night where members peer reviewed each other’s professional social media accounts and shared the goals they hope to achieve in the near future. Casual events are common as well such as pictionary games, kahoot quizzes, and weird/funny Power-Point night. They accept a wide variety of majors and strive to help everyone grow in their professional careers. You can find them on the Communications website, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and you can email them at zpedpu@gmail.com.
