Lily Rose, a groundbreaking new artist to the country scene, brings a different type of country to the table, one that encompasses more pop and rock elements to the genre. Without a doubt, fans of both country, pop, and rock will enjoy listening to her music.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Rose first developed as a self-taught drummer and guitarist. She eventually began to evolve as both a singer and songwriter as well.
In 2019 she started to release tracks on Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms. Her latest single, “Villain” was released independently in December 2020. The track was met with a great deal of positive feedback. The single had reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart and rose to the top of the iTunes all genre chart. The track even beat out Taylor Swift’s latest releases at the time!
This past January, Rose signed a record deal between Back Block Music Records, Big Loud Records, and Republic Records, and new music is on the way!
I’m absolutely honored that I got to speak with her recently and I instantly became a fan after listening to her current discography earlier this year.
My interview with her covers her background as a musician, including her inspirations and which artists she’d like to work with if given the chance.
She talked about her interest in collaborating with Kendrick Lamarr, Maroon 5, and Bruce Springsteen. We also talked about her favorite single to work on, her most memorable performance so far, and what she would be doing if she wasn’t a musician.
Towards the end, we got a hint as to where Rose may be performing in Chicago once the pandemic subsides, and I got some recommendations for when I eventually visit Nashville!
Rose’s discography can be found on music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud on two accounts. Lily Rose is just getting started, so stay tuned for future releases!
